Walter was a son of Pryce & Frances (Jones), Kerry Road, & was employed by Clement William Norton, ironmonger. He joined the RAF in 1916, and was 5'2.5", with a 31" chest, black hair, blue eyes and a fresh complexion. He served in France & was admitted to the 11th Clearing Station on 18/2/1918 suffering from influenza and pneumonia and died 4 days later. He was buried at St Andre Communal Cemetery in France & is commemorated in St David's Church & the URC.
