Walter was the son of James Eden Doyle, a forester in Norton, Co. Durham. He was a gamekeepr in Norton Co. Durham, married Margaret Helen Evans of 2 Frankwell Street, where they lived & had a daughter. He died of his wounds and was buried in the Philosophe British Cemetery, Mazingarbe, Pas de Calais. He was awarded the British War & Victory medals. He is commemorated in the Baptist Chapel & Llanllwchaiarn Church.
