Clifford Standard Davies

Birth: 1893
Regiment: B RAF


Clifford was the son of Maurice, a local contractor, and Jane and lived at 9 Ladywell Street with 4 sisters & a brother until the family moved to Stockport. He had worked as a breeder, a builder and in business, and had previously served in the Army as  a private in the RAMC from 19/3/1916. He joined the RAF on 26/4/1916 and his description stated that he was 5'1"  with a 33.5" chest. He served in France  from 28/5/1916 until 30/9/1917 and in 1918 he rose to the rank of sergeant. He was awarded the British War and Victory medals.
